Do you have a child turning eight this year? Never fear. Your primary presidency is here! We will lead you through the process, and help you enjoy a sacred, spiritual experience with your child and family. Here's what to expect.
In January, the Stake Primary Presidency holds a Stake Baptism Preview. All primary children in the Meridian Idaho North Stake turning eight before January 4th, 2025 (and their parents) are invited to the event. Children and parents are introduced to the Stake Center. Our Stake Primary Leaders do a wonderful job of sharing both spiritual and temporal information in preparation for your child's Baptism Day. Physical invitations to this event have been mailed to those families in our ward with children of record turning age 8 in 2024. We will also make sure the event information is posted in the ward bulletin and ward emails. (This meeting was attended on January 21, 2024 at 3pm at the Stake Center.)
About a month before your child's scheduled baptism, Sister Smith will call you to schedule a special Baptism Planning Meeting. We will talk about "all the things"! From understanding what a covenant means to trying on CTR and Temple rings, to talking about who you would like to participate in your baptism program, and what you need to bring with you on Baptism day - we will cover all the bases.
Prior to your child's baptism, Br. Krueger, our Ward Executive Secretary, will also call you to schedule your child's baptismal interview with the Bishop. And, yes, parents are welcome and encouraged to attend with their children.
Sister Smith will help you with all the details along the way, and make sure each child and their family feel well prepared and excited for this special day. A member of the Primary Presidency will attend the Baptism Service and be there to help you and your family with any needs. The Stake Primary Leaders are also in attendance; They do a tremendous job of organizing and facilitating the baptisms each month. It's a wonderful team effort.
The Spirit is so strong and so peaceful on Baptism Day. Our goal is to help you enjoy the sacredness of the day with your child and your family. :)
If you have any other preliminary questions, please contact Sister Smith, and she would be happy to visit with you.
